How much sun will it need?
Herbs require at least 6 hours of direct light daily, andshould be put in an unobstructed window that faces south, west or east(southwest is the best option). During winter months—or if you don’t have anunobstructed window—you can supplement with a grow light.
Can i put it outside?
Garden jars are designed for indoor use, but can be putoutside. Be mindful that the planter does not have a drain hole, and if thereservoir floods it may drown the roots. Bring your garden jar inside if tempsdip below 55⁰ or above 80⁰.
How is it reusable?
The stainless steel net pot and recycled glass growmedium can both be reused—simply rinse with hot water. Add new seeds and usesoil or coco pith to help seeds germinate. Use a water soluble fertilizer andfollow its instructions.

Cilantro

How long does it take to grow?
Cilantro seeds take 12-21 days to sprout, and will beready to start harvesting in 2+ months. Continuous harvesting will encourage abushy plant and greater yield.
How long will it last?
A cilantro plant will continue to grow for many monthswith sufficient nutrients and light; however, as the plants ages it will have atendency to bolt (go to seed). Picking off flowers and preventing exposure totemps above 75 will minimize this.
Basil

How long does it take to grow?
Basil seeds take 7-14 days to sprout, and will be readyto start harvesting in 2+ months. Continuous harvesting will encourage a bushyplant and greater yield.
How long will it last?
A basil plant will continue to grow with sufficientnutrients and light; however, after 3-6 months it will develop a woody stem andthe leaves will become a bit bitter.
